The project set up a school computer center with a dial-up Internet connection and five computers, and linked the school to the I*EARN global network.

In this Anuradhapura school of more than 4500 students, of which 90% hadn't even seen a computer, the computer center provided an opportunity for all students from Grade 6 upwards to have the chance to become familiar with computers. The students have also formed a computer club with the English language teaching section of the school called "NC.com." This club will be a self help entity where the more computer competent students will help the weaker to strengthen their computer and English language skills. LAcNet successfully incorporated the school program with the I*EARN Network pilot project " Community Voices Collaborative Solutions."

During this year the ANCMV students used the new computer facilities to produce articles for the schools' Look@ magazine. This first issue highlights a message from Sir Arthur C. Clarke. Another milestone is the Poson Bakthi Gee (devotional songs) program which brought together ANCMV students and teachers, Rajarata Radio, and LAcNet members to create a unique production. These songs are now available at LAcNet's Sinhala Juke Box.
