Thousands of college students participated in the event enthusiastically. Mr. Gotabhaya Jayarathna, the Secretary of the North Central Provincial Council was the chief guest. The others present were Mrs. Premalatha Karunarathna, the Additional Secretary of the North Central Provincial Council; Mr. D.M.H.B .Dissanayake, North Central Province Director of Education; Mr. S. Siripala Silva and Mr Subhasingha; former principals; Mr.H.B Rathnayaka Anuradhapura zonal Director of Education, and MR P.Wanninayaka Anuradhapura Divisional Director of Education.     NEW PREFECTS 72 New prefects were appointed by the school administration recently. Nandana Jayarathna the well-known orator of the school, was appointed the Head Boy while Kumudu Nisansala was appointed the Head Girl. We wish them all the best.   VIP VISIT Ms Susan Maingay the Director of the British Council, accompanied by Ms Nicola and Ms Jenita Fernando of the Save the Children Fund visited the school Computer Centre recently. They had informal discussions with the college students about the new Inforrmation Technologies and the importance of good communications.
